EP Study or Electrophysiological Study is a novel interventional cardiology technique, where Electrophysiology study is done and rhythm disorder diagnosis is done, and if possible, then radiofrequency ablation can also be done.

EP Study is usually indicated in patients with Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, VT, VF localization, patients with rhythm disorders and Heart Failure, PSVT, AVRT, AVNRT etc.
EP Study can improve the quality of life and reduce pill burden in such patients. Patients with Tachy-brady syndrome can also benefit from EP Study and RFA- whereby pacemaker can be implanted after inducing CHB via RFA and patient can be kept on rate controlling drugs henceforth, leading to control of tachycardia symptoms.
EP Study is a specialized procedure, and invasive one, whereby 2-3 catheters may be inserted to ascertain the source of rhythm disorder.
