RSSHI (Research Society for the Study of Hypertension in India) is the largest society of specialist and super-specialist doctors in India for the treatment and diagnosis of hypertension in India. Dr. CR Rawat, is his oration last year at the RSSHI Symposium, stated that the time is right for multispecialty collaboration for treatment of hypertension. He said that cost should not be a factor when treatment of hypertension is concerned, as long term benefits of adequate blood pressure control far outweigh the short term burden of the cost involved.
Dr. CR Rawat urged on Renal Denervation Therapy, for patients with poorly controlled hypertension, on more than 3 drugs, and especially if their obese or have heart failure or atrial fibrillation too. Dr. CR Rawat said that such patients can see a reduction of their symptoms and even pill burden in the short and medium term with renal denervation therapy with improvement in quality of life.
RSSHI, National Secretary, Dr. Rajat Rawat, an expert in Renal Denervation Therapy in India and the only cardiologist in Agra to do such a fine procedure routinely, also enlisted it’s benefits. Dr. Rajat Rawat also urged patients for lifestyle modification.
