Jim Corbett, a serene haven for the wildlife that dwell there.

I was lucky enough to have made a small trip with my family, at the end of 2020. 2020 has not been very kind to many of us, so we decided to bid farewell to it in our way by visiting nature, getting close to it, bowing down to it, in respect and seeking harmony through connection.

We arrived at the Tarangi resort, that was booked online by my brother, and we made ourselves cozy there, and had a small bonfire at night while having snacks and dinner. It was a nice resort, that had ample of open spaces, and a swimming pool, but we never dived inside, because the temperatures were already chilling us to the bones.

It was a long drive from Agra, to the mountains, approximately ten hours, one filled with many twists and turns. We arrived at the resort at about 7 pm. After inspection of the rooms, we found that they were cozy, warm and comfortable. Due to the darkness, we could not see the ambient jungle around, but we had a feeling that it would be beautiful. The silence of the jungle caught up with us, and we started respecting it. After a sumptuous dinner, we headed to our respective rooms for a good night sleep.

The next day, we had our plan chalked out for us by my brother, and my brother-in-law. We managed to see the sunrise, by the river-side that was flowing just outside of the resort. We caught some glimpses of the sambhar deer and the spotted deer from a distance, drinking water from the river. We walked for a few hours under the rising sun, and then made our way towards breakfast. We had a heavy meal, then went to the garden to relax under the morning sun, while the children played around.

After some hours, we got ready for our attraction of the day- the Jim Corbett jungle safari. The jeep came to pick us up at our resort, and we went to the safari. It was almost 3-4 hour long safari. Getting close to nature, and watching nature up-lose was a very good experience, and we saw many monkeys, langoors, Deers- sambher, spotted, but we could not sight the Tiger. Neverthless, it was a wonderful experience, and after the safari we were all very tired and hungry. So we came back to resort and relaxed, and went for dinner, and slept the night off.

The next day, a spontaneous plan to Nainital was made and we made our way to Nainital, reaching it after about 4 hours. We stayed there at a heritage hotel, but the food was not very good. Everyone enjoyed our time walking down the mall road, and also taking blessings of Kasar Devi and Baba NeemKarori. The next day, we went to the mall again and roamed around and ate around nainital. The next day to that, we made our way back to Agra and reached Agra safely after a 10 hour long journey.

It was a wonderful family holiday.
